As we rowed our heavily laden dingy back to the Man’s Promise the subject of splitting the butty that was found on the island came up. “We should split it up between the 7 of us,” Aeolus says.
“Not equally though. ”/characters/sandra-quinn" class=“wiki-content-link”>Sandara Quinn and Sherman should get something but they didn’t help in the fighting," I say.
“Really ”/characters/keton" class=“wiki-content-link”>Keton? Without me you wouldn’t have gotten anything. Bismara guided you to me and the to the loot" Sandara glares at me. I decide it’s best if keep my mouth shut and just go along. After all I’m still going to get more gold then I’ve had for the past month.
“So we should split it seven ways then?” Aeolus asks.
Growltiger shakes his head. “No eight, so the ship has a share. This way they will be less likely to be suspicious and search us.” There is a general agreement that this is a good idea. In the end everyone and the ship gets 17 gold, a number of pearls, silver ingots and a whale’s skull that had been engraved with spells. Aeolus keeps an ornate dagger and a pair of braces which I had determined to have the magical properties to make one better with a bow.
As we begin to approach the Man’s Promise we all hear arguing aboard ship. We look at each other worriedly. “I doubt anything has happened yet as we would hear fighting if the mutiny had started,” I say. The others nod and Albonubes / White Cloud calls up to the crows nest where Aretta Bansion is keeping watch. She waves us toward the ship and as we come along side a rope ladder comes down for us.
“Growltiger and Keton stay here to help secure the book.” Aeolus says and the others climb up to pull off the supplies. As the dingy gets lifted into view I hear Aeolus talking with Master Scourge.
“Ah! Finally made it back I see,” Scourge calls out mockingly.
Aeolus nods, “Yes it took us a bit to get back but we brought back some gold.”
“Yes just a small bit.”
Scourge spots Mr. Peabody sniffing around the deck of the ship. “Who brought this mutt on the ship?”
Sherman raises his hand, “I did Sir and I would like to book passage on this ship?”
“Oh you would? Well you’ll have to talk to the captian about that.” Scourge leads Sherman and Mr. Peabody to the captain’s quarters and shows him inside. After Sherman disappeared inside Scourge turns back and calls out “Back to work everyone, Ambrose, Aretta get below decks.”
While this is going on White Cloud moves over to Ambrose “Fishguts” Kroop and has a whispered conversation with him. White Cloud comes back with a worried look on his face. “They know about the mutiny,” he whispers.
Aeolus loos shocked, “How?”
“I don’t know, but they know. They plan on killing us when we go down below decks. We’ll have to move up our plans.” He looks over at Sherman who just emerged from the captain’s quarters, “We should see if Sherman would support us.”
White Cloud waves over Sherman, “Come and help us unload the supplies.” When Sherman joins us White Cloud whispers to him, “We are planning a mutiny. We need to know if your with us. Plug and Scourge are horrible and need to be removed from leadership.”
Sherman looks worried about this new information. “I’m not sure but I’ll trust you and are with you.”
“Good,” White Cloud nods to everyone “Shandra are you with us.” She doesn’t reply but is mumbling under her breath dropping coins into the ocean.
Growltiger grunts, “I think she’s with us. I’ll start this with Scourge.” As Growltiger moves toward Scourge who is by the stairs I draw my dagger. Aeolus moves up to the wheel house to set up with his cross bow. The others continue to pretend to unload the dingy. I see Growltiger say something about a pearl and as Scourges eyes go down to look at the pearl head by Growltiger his blade flashes out and slashes across Scourges chest. With that one stroke the ship explodes into action. I move to support Growltiger and I reach Scourge I sink my dagger into his side. Sherman, who has mounted his wolf, also moves over to help and is able get over and land a blow also before Growltiger makes a second strike and Scourge tumbles down the stairs dead.
Together we move to block the stairway so that more pirates are unable to rush up the stairs past us. While we are fighting those pirates who are foolish enough to come up the stairs White Cloud goes to block the down to the captains cabin. Two pirates come up and fall to the combined might of those who are surrounding the stairs.
“There is no one in Plugs cabin, he must have taken the trap door down,” White Cloud says. “There’s another trap door to the lower hold in the fore section,” yells Sandra.
“Bae-Wae, Aeolus come with me to block the fore cabin doors,” Growltiger commands and he moves over to prevent any rush from that cabin. I move to the front of the stairs to take the blocking position at the top of the stairs. I draw my crossbow and fire a round at Aretta.
Plug yells up from the lower hold, “Surrender now or your small friend will die!”
There’s a string of cuss words floating up to us. “That’s Rosie alright.” I say. Without saying a word Sandra moves down the stairs to confront Plugg. Not wanting her to face him alone I follow her down. When I get to the bottom I see Plugg holding a knife to Rosie’s throat and another pirate on her other side. As we both move forward to confront Plugg and his other pirate White Cloud also comes down followed by the Rastafarian pirates who crew the ship.
